Many of you may know that there are numerous feral cat colonies throughout our neighborhoods. A good number of them have been trapped spayed and neutered with the help of good hearted people who live here and have accepted the caring and loving burden of helping them. Even though they may be considered a nuisance it is still illegal to harm them. Some have been treated for what appear to be pellet or BB gun wounds.
Title 18, section 55 sub chapter B prohibits the cruelty, abuse and killing of these animals ranging from summary offenses, misdemeanor and/or felony charges resulting in fines and arrest.
If you do experience these cats on your property there are more humane and friendly ways to deal with them. For more information please go to www.alleycat.org.
Thank you.
